30 Day Film Challenge

I am so thrilled to release this and begin my very first FILM CHALLENGE!! I am no stranger to photography challenges as I have done quite a few personal challenges in the past. The thing that is different this time, is I am inviting you to participate along side me! And I’ll be shooting all 30 images on film; where my past challenges where shot on digital.

If you don’t have a film camera, don’t fret! You can still participate. Use whatever camera you have at your disposal. This is meant to be fun and to get you out taking photos and looking at life in a different way.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Simple! I have created a list of 30 prompts and you take a photo of what the prompt means to you. It is meant to be done once a day, but if you take multiple images in one day and no images the next, that’s fine. Just try to complete the list within 30 days. The fun (and hard) part about doing this challenge on film is you don’t get a do over. You take the photo and that’s it. You can’t keep taking it until its perfect and you’re happy with the results. And that’s just one of the reasons I love film. If you are using a digital camera or a phone, I challenge you to only shot ONE photo for each prompt. This will help you slow down and just embrace the imperfections, the same way that film allows.

You do not have to use the order the prompts are in. You can jump around the list, just be sure you complete all 30 prompts. And easy way to keep track of what image you took for what prompt, will be too write a description of each photo and what prompt it was in a journal. I have a specific journal I use for my photography notes, but you can just a loose sheet of paper if that’s all you have, just don’t lose it!

I will be posting the prompt list to my newsletter, so make sure you sign up! The List will come out on the last day of the month and I will begin the challenge on June 1.

I can’t wait to see what you create!!

happy shooting.

peace + light,
